My close friend, Susan, traveled through Tibet in the 90s. (She has studied with a Rimposhe and is part of a Tibetan group in Hawaii.) Over the years, she has shared with me many of her adventures (often death-defying!) and stories of ponies and yaks. I dreamed about her one night, after she sent me a colorful scarf/table runner as a gift. In my dream I asked, “Susan — I love what you sent, but tell me, is it a scarf? Is it a table runner? How shall I use it?” She answered: “That’s the beauty — it can be used as anything you want. You can even use it to catch up your yak!” With that, she reached behind her and wrapped the turquoise/white/black-patterned scarf around the neck of a tan-colored yak, turned and skipped away, the yak happily following. I called her next day to share with her my dream wisdom/whimsy, and we both got a good laugh :)) :)) :))

Plenty of ice. A fascinating time of year to be there.

I imagine the landscape was more beautiful as well as the prospect of snow leopards.

Beauty in the frozen ice. Black and white photography allows you to examine the details in a photo.
