… but we never did get to Berlin.
After the long flight from Australia I arrived in New York and it was raining. I was glad on my way to our hotel in Manhattan that I didn’t have to drive. By the time I got there it was after 11pm.
This is the view across the road from the shelter of the awning at the front of the hotel. Nice reflections on the water on the road and the large sign opposite is counting the metric tons of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. This was the only time it rained while we were in New York.
19 October 2011.

Ha, that’s weird. You either stayed short time, or you were extremely lucky. I remember 1-2 rainy days last year after this photo was taken, but it was probably early December.

We left on the morning of the 5th of November. It did snow while we were there, though.

I find it somewhat ironic: bright, greenhouse gas emitting electric lights telling you how good a job they’re doing. Excellent photograph…

Quite right! I hadn’t thought of it that way. Thank you.
