1987, New South Wales, Australia, From Dusk Till Dawn
Monochrome versions of lighthouse images from From Dusk Till Dawn.
Most of these images were taken with large format 5×4 cameras using Fujichrome 50 slide film (Velvia did not exist then). A few were taken with medium format cameras Mamiya 645 and 1937 Rolleiflex TLR. Some (which should be easy to identify) were taken with a Nikon FE and a 16mm fisheye lens.

Enjoying this lighthouse series very much and love the Cape Bryon lighthouse house and view through the lens, such a different view.

That’s another thing that may be unique. You can still get inside many lighthouses but my guess would be that the prisms are locked and only the maintenance contractors would have the key – so no-one would be allowed inside the prisms.

Also, that image of Cape Byron through the lens is actually upside down because the prism inverts the lens, just as our eyes do.

That doorhandle is amazing.

Certainly not something you see every day. Maybe a bit reminiscent of arms coming out of a wall in Cocteau’s 1946 film Beauty and the Beast.
