So that’s the last post from Cuba. Santo Domingo from the Dominican Republic should be next but first there will be some more recent posts, one from a Blues Festival and a few from Montague Island off the South coast of New South Wales.
Wonderful post Murray. I wonder how good your Spanish is.

Thanks very much Robert. Not so good. I did do a course and buy a CD set but I haven’t needed it that much.

Great photographs! I guess Cuba looks better in black and white, as it should be for a country that has been stagnated since the 1950’s! Greatly enjoyed this post and your blog. All the best,
Cheers from Spain!

Thanks very much Francisco! It has stagnated economically, partly or largely due to US sanctions, but it’s quite safe, the people have a sense of community we have lost in much of the West and they have high standards of health and education. The infant mortality rate, for example, is higher in the US!

I thank you for your reply and for your words but Cuba is poor and destitute because of their commu ist government and reference health and education, family members from Spain and US must send even aspirin to their relatives in Cuba. Recently a study was published that teachers misspelled words and due to lack of discipline, education is terrible. It’s important to separate facts from communist propaganda. My greetings, cheers and all the best from Spain!
