Great to hear from you Cem! Just got home yesterday. We just stayed in the old city and it was great. It will take some time to get to the final posts though, because I’ll finish off Cuba and the Caribbean first (after the temporary posts for the rest of this trip).

I had actually forgotten that Istanbul was at one point on my bucket list. I think it should go back on at the top as there has been a constant pull in that direction. I look forward to hearing the linguistic logistics on this; as ever that is the

Certainly worth a visit. And we only scratched the surface. It will take some time to get to the final post. Finishing off Cuba and the Caribbean (and Southern California) will come first.

Interestingly we just watched Tom Hanks in Inferno and I of course added the sunken Palace to my list but I do feel Turkey is a travel risk just now, another quality set, are you still shooting with the Fuji?

Yes, shooting Fuji for travel, still probably with Nikon for Blues Festivals.
We just stayed in the old city, very close to the Hagia Sofia and the Blue Mosque and it seemed safe to us. The Australian Government has a travel caution on Istanbul so we were uninsured for hear for our time there but not the UK Govt. There are scams where unregistered guides later lead you to carpet shops but that’s not much of a problem.
