.
We had a free day in Geelong and we visited the Art Gallery and the Botanic Gardens. There was a very impressive exhibition at the Art Gallery of landscapes of Australian artist Fred Williams but no photographs were allowed in any case.
Municipal pools by the sea on the way to the Botanic Gardens.

Geelong Botanic Gardens, established in 1852 is the fourth oldest Botanic Gardens in Australia.

Looking up at a giant redwood, planted in 1873.
.
This is obviously the end of a fern but I didn’t photograph many labels, so I can’t tell you what most of these plants are.

NICE!!
Thank you!
Very partial to purple and orange.
Definitely some nice colours there. ANBG (in Canberra) tomorrow.
Beautiful photos. They’ve really brightened up my corner of a drab and dreary England – thanks for posting!
Thanks very much Jane!
Love the aspect on the redwood, and the purple lupins(?) reminded me of a group of standing meerkats.
Now if I can just find some purple meerkats….
Lots of colors in your photos! Nice place to visit I imagine.
Thank you! Yes it was a nice place to stroll around. I’ll be putting up some posts from Botanic Gardens in Singapore next week.
