We are on the Mungo Sunset Tour, organised by Mungo Lodge.  Three posts ago was the Lunette Tour, organised by National Parks.

Macro capture of an outcrop of gold?  No, it’s the surface of the lunette in the late afternoon light.

Just to the left of the the bush is a star picket, or a metal fence pole.  What it is doing there is a matter for conjecture.  Star pickets were patented in 1926 so perhaps it dates beck to the 1920s or 30s.  Sheep were still being run here then, and perhaps it has eroded that much since then.

Perhaps I should clarify though that the tour starts 90 minutes before sunset and we were walking over the lunette between then and sunset.

As you can see, it was also a full moon.

A couple of posts ago we saw pink cockatoos eating paddy melons (not to be confused with pademelons; they don’t eat those).  Here they are growing in the ground.
