3 September 2017, Hartz Mountains National Park, Tasmania
.
Waratah Lookout.
We were driving from Bruny Island to Hobart, which wasn’t far, so we went a bit out of out way to a couple of interesting locations. One of these was Hartz Mountains National Park. We only skimmed the surface here. For one thing we didn’t have a lot of time and for another, the weather was a bit too damp to go for a long walk.
.
We must have visited Keogh’s Falls, which is close to the road, but evidently I didn’t consider it worthy of a photograph. This on the approaches to Arve Falls.

From Arve Falls we drove on to the end of the road and then undertook the short walk to Lake Osborne. This is a long-ranging view when starting out. We are back in the Tasmanian Wilderness Area.

Long view of a misty landscape.

Lake Osborne.

Walking back through a moody landscape, keeping just ahead of the rain…
