Flinders Ranges, South Australia, 20 to 21 August 2016
.
This is on the sixth day of the Flinders Ranges workshop.
.
It was a grey early morning…
.
… but still some dramatic clouds.
.
Then the sun came up as we headed towards Brachina Gorge, hoping to see some more yellow-footed rock wallabies.
.
This is now inside Brachina Gorge.
.
Peaks and streaks…
.
We saw a lone wallaby some distance away on the rocks.
(All the wallaby images are taken on a tripod with a 300mm f2.8 lens plus 1.4x teleconverter, then well cropped in.)
.
And there were two in a different place.
.
Actually, that was three and now there is four.
You may need to click on the image for a larger view if you can’t see the head of the joey poking out from its mother’s pouch.
.
“… so I jumped into the car and drove it away….”
.
.
There’s a tail poking out of the pouch now.
.
Time to chase the interloper away….
.
This is now late in the afternoon. I think we might be along the Moralana Track.
.
.
I found a nice tree with a bird’s next in it, silhouetted against the landscape.
.
And then, so did a couple of other photographers…
.
.
Windmills and late afternoon light.
.
Lone tree in the sunset.
.
.
Next morning we all left the workshop. This is looking towards Wilpena Pound at the side of the road, on my way to Adelaide.
One more infrared post to go, then a few mono posts.
.
SIGH! I suppose you won’t know what jealousy feels like. 🙂
