We got in very late on our flight from Singapore and the next morning our guide Dhruv Gupta took us in a stroll through the back streets of old Delhi.
Little point in captions for most of these images. No point me describing what you can see perfectly well for yourselves.

I remember walking through the back streets of Ruwi (Oman) in the 1980’s and it looked just like you have portrayed – even the overhead mains cables. Most of the shop keepers were either Indian or Pakistani.
I bet it’s a jolt to the senses after Singapore.

Thank you, David. Ruwi is ow transformed by oil money I imagine.
They’re both open and friendly and very crowded though the contrast in income level is very marked.

Those power poles are quite a wonder! Is it common for them to short out and cause outages and fires? It looks like it!
