Back Streets of Old Delhi

20 January 2018, Delhi, India

.

We got in very late on our flight from Singapore and the next morning our guide Dhruv Gupta took us in a stroll through the back streets of old Delhi.

Little point in captions for most of these images.  No point me describing what you can see perfectly well for yourselves.

As always, at least if you have a proper monitor, you can click the images for more detail.

Clearly we’re not in Singapore any more.  “Goodluck Engineering” is one thing.  Above that is the slogan “Looking for Safety”.

  1. I remember walking through the back streets of Ruwi (Oman) in the 1980’s and it looked just like you have portrayed – even the overhead mains cables. Most of the shop keepers were either Indian or Pakistani.
I bet it’s a jolt to the senses after Singapore.
    Good series Murray.

  5. Those power poles are quite a wonder! Is it common for them to short out and cause outages and fires? It looks like it!

  6. Outstanding series, street photography with a documentary edge. The rays of sunshine in the shaded alley compositions are excellent!
