Wineglass Bay Sail Walk Day 3
.
James returning to the yacht.
After breakfast, we left our anchorage at the Tasmanian mainland and sailed across to Maria Island. This is really two islands connected by a sandbar and we are here at Shoal bay on the western side of the isthmus. We have been dropped off on the shore for a walk to Haunted Bay at the southern end of the island.

After a steep climb down, here we are at Haunted Bay. Tasmanian mainland in the distance.

A tough succulent growing in an exposed position near the sea.

A variety of colours from lichens on the rocks.

Heading back now, the way we came.

Back at the isthmus, but on the other side. This is Riedle Bay.

And some surf coming in.

The gulls have stood up as Jools photographs them.

Now on the other side of the isthmus at Shoal Bay. A whole selection of Neptune’s treasures left for us to admire in the sand.

And finally, a dolphin sculpture.
