Nordvestfjorden, Scoresby Sund, Greenland. Day 49. 16th August 2013.
In our last afternoon in Greenland we glided round Nordvestfjorden in zodiacs, admiring the icebergs.

And finally back to the ship, from whence we sailed for Iceland.
.
In Denmark Strait we encountered a huge pod of maybe one hundred humpback whales. Denmark Straight is between Greenland and Iceland but it is Greenland you can see in the background.
.
So, as we leave Greenland at the end of our Arctic wilderness expedition, a humpback whales bids us farewell….

(Trivia note: The blog has just passed 100,000 views. View number 100,000 came from the US of either Eskimobugt or Bear Islands & Syd Kap).
Wonderful Post.

Glaciers are the most beautiful creation of the Mother Nature…definitely.
Also, I write about traveling, too, and I know you have much more followers than me, but can we do follow for follow, please? 🙂

Hi, Murray: Very nice series. Good luck in Iceland, I hope the weather is better than it was a couple weeks ago when I visited. Still, the scenery was very impressive.

Hi Robin and thank you. No, no, I’m catching up with a previous trip. The Lofoten, Spitsbergen and Greenland images are from 2013. I’d previously posted on Scotland and the outer islands from that trip and still have Iceland to go. I had great weather everywhere – even Scotland was warm and dry – until I got to Iceland where they were having the wettest summer they had had for decades. Still saw some great sights and came back with some great images, especially in the snow-covered highlands. I’m about to go on another trip for two months, of which I will post full details in a few days. I’ll probably post on Iceland when I get back, after temporary posts for the next trip and before the permanent ones.
