Day 76. 14th September. Jökulheimaleið, Highlands, Iceland.
.
It may change, but currently and for some time now, an extract from this image is the header of this blog, although this is a slightly different version using different source files.
.
Here we have a wondrous landscape, almost entirely black and white, but with tantalising hints of colours.

I was driving down Jökulheimaleið, towards Jökulheimar and the glacier view when I realised I was on a flat ridge and no longer on the road.
.
This wasn’t a problem though. I was in snow and could see my tyre tracks and turned around till I found the road again.
.
At that stage I turned back and never did get to Jökulheimar .

You may not have gotten as far as Jökulheimar, but you sure went somewhere beautiful.

Absolutely! A candidate for the most magical place I’ve been.

Such incredible landscapes Murray. I envy your experience and youth to be able to do it. I wonder, did you shoot in b/w or are these manipulated.

They’re all in full colour.

Absolutely wonderful shapes, lines and patterns made by the snow (and lack thereof). I’m glad you made it to this amazing place even if you didn’t get to Jokulheimar.
