Day 65. 2nd September. Jökulsárlón, South Iceland.
.
These are images from a whole day at Jökulsárlón, where icebergs drift from a glacier through a lagoon to the nearby sea. The first seven are at the lagoon.
.
The glacier Breiδamerkurjökull looms above the lagoon.

Now I have moved to the coast at the black sand beach near where the lagoon empties to the sea.

For these last ones I am back again at the lagoon.
.
These boats contain Martin Bailey’s group heading out to the edge of the glacier to find images.
I enquired at the booking office whether I could have a boat ride as well but I needed to have booked in advance..

Great shot
Thank you
The pictures did not load… Damn.. I was looking forward to seeing some pictures from you
That’s unfortunate. I’m using a utility too called JpegMini that automatically works out the smallest size images can be without loss of quality (It’s expensive but I got it on special).
It may be because this post has 29 images which is the largest number of images I’ve ever included in a single post. The next post in two days time has 19 images and the one after that 11.
Well, I am going to try and have a go again
Awe inspiring Murray! Don’t stop now!!
Lots more to come Robert!
Woo Murray, there are some real gems there! Brilliant stuff.
Thanks very much George!
Wonderful images and I love that you have included the glacier itself. I’ve seen many shots of the icebergs and pieces on the black sand beach but never the glacier itself. It is magnificent!
Thanks very much, Lee. Next post is at the nearby and not so well known glacier Fjallsárlón, starting at dawn.
Great post and excellent images. Brings back memories of our visit to the lagoon and nearby black sand beach.
Thanks very much Robin. It’s definitely a very compelling location.
Beautiful photographs!
Thank you!
nice stuff in here too !!!
Thanks very much, Roger!
Luuuv the abstract ice shots!
