    • Yes, some very spectacular places, especially in the fleeting light of late afternoon or early morning. Some wonderful views in the Vallee de la Luna when we were driving past in the bus had tantalisingly disappeared shortly afterwards with the optimal light.

  1. Good night from Brazil, Murray! How are you? I was anxious to see your photos from San Pedro de Atacama and they are so beautiful. I’m amazed! Thanks for everything with our camera in the hostel! Wish you the best, Tania

    • Hello Tania. Great to hear from you. I am well and glad to have been of some assistance.

There will be just one more similar Atacama post to go in a few days. I will make final posts with more detail but it will probably take something like six months because I have a backload to get through first – two Blues Festivals (including one in January that hasn’t happened yet), Iceland (from 2013), then Mauritius, Reunion, Falklands and South Georgia before I get back to Atacama posts.

    • Yes, Lee, it was an interesting place with many spectacular landscapes. I think the quality of the light is partly because it was so high. St Pedro de Atacama itself is 2,400 metres (7,900 feet) and we went as high as 4,800 metres (16,750 feet).
