I’ve been posting every week but I’ve been consumed with processing the 5,300 images I took at the Thredbo Blues Festival from 19 to 21 January. It’s been two weeks so far and I told some people there I would have a summary post about now but it will probably take another two weeks. I can’t sneak another Tasmania post in in the meanwhile because the next one will be infrared and is likely to be time consuming to produce. So here is a post on Walter Trout’s recent performance in Canberra. I don’t usually post here on local gigs but this is a rare one by an international artist with a significant reputation.

Walter Trout.
I previously saw Walter Trout in the late 1980s in Canberra when he was playing lead guitar for John Mayall along with Coco Montoya. As a consequence of encounters with alcohol and heroin common amongst elite musicians, he survived a near-death experience in 2014 which required a liver transplant. Recovery was a long process involving relearning to talk, walk and play guitar. He can certainly play guitar again now though.
