Blues, Brews and BBQs 2023 was a one-day Blues Festival at Tumut which is west of Canberra and about a 2.5 hours drive. It was a very friendly and laid-back event with many locals and visitors as well as people from out of town. Here is a selection of images from each of the eight bands. There are also links to JAlbum slideshows for each of the bands, monochromes, top 100 images and top 25.

For regular readers of the Blog: I have another Blues Festival to post next (Thredbo). Then I will be able to resume regular posts from North Queensland.
Nice images as always Murray.
(Tumut is south west by the way. I lived there in the late ‘80s – early ‘90s)

Thanks very much Derek. I should look at a map before I write. Just because I start of driving north when taking the main road. It’s closer to west actually, depending on where in Canberra you start from. It’s a little south of Ainslie but if you lived in Kingston, it’s pretty much west.

BluesFest at Byron? No, too big and commercial although there are some great acts there. Never been there actually.

I was thinking closer to home.

Ah the Folk Festival. That is indeed close to home. I went there once as a photographer at the request of a band but I assume I’m only interested in a minority of the acts, which makes it a bit expensive. So no, perhaps I should but I’m not planning to go there either.
