Travel day today. I headed off for a museum in the morning, then decided I didn’t have enough time so turned back.
I encountered this curious being in the centre of old Nara shopping zone. Appears to be some kind of marsupial cat-like creature that gives birth to fish.
I’ve taken the train from Nara to Kyoto. This is the bullet train drawing up in Kyoto Station to take me to Odawara, a trip of about three hours. Then to Hakone by considerably slower local trains.
I was surprised to find snow from just outside Nara.
And this is the view of a mountain (name unknown) not far before Odawara.

Absolutely beautifyl pictures. I love Japan; the food, culture, and architecture. Asaksa is one of my favorite cities. Tokyo has amazing night life, but I lean toward the traditional. How much longer do you have on your travels?

Thanks very much.
Yes, Japan is a wonderful country to visit for those reasons, also because it is so safe and welcoming. Asakusa, I presume? I spent very little time in Tokyo, mainly went to traditional places and wilderness places.
I spent 34 days in Japan mainly in February. You can see the itinerary on the Japan tab of the blog. I am now back in Australia with 10,000 exposures to consider processing. I have so far completed 10 days as 20 posts with 200 images and 10,000 words. I expect it will take me another two or three months to process the images and make the posts even though I am essentially working full-time on it.

I usually have a post each day. I’ll probably end up posting about 500 images.
