Blomsterbukten and Nanortalik, between Ymer Island and the mainland, Greenland. Days 44. 11th August 2013.
From Clavering Island, we sailed south overnight to Blomsterbugten (Flower Bay, but none on view) in Kejser Franz Joseph Fjord (you can see where that is in the map in the previous post).
.
The first image was taken from the ship in the early morning and this one and the next one in mid-morning. All three were taken from the ship in the fjord because while it looks fairly calm, katabatic winds ruled out an expedition in the zodiacs.

.
In the middle of the day we moved “round the corner” to Nanortalik in Antarctic Sund. (The explorer who named that must have been sailing in the wrong direction for quite some time). The rest of the images would have been taken from the zodiacs as we explored the icebergs and the Sound. Not much need for commentary.

The icebergs are fascinating and the detail in them can be fascinating.

These last two are from the ship in the early evening.
