Lilliehöökbreen, Spitsbergen. Day 39. 6th August 2013.
From Tinayrebukta we sailed about twenty-six kilometres to the end of the neighbouring (fjord) Lilliehöökfjorden at Lilliehöökbreen. This is where a massive glacier comes out, twenty-two kilometres long and eight kilometres wide at the end of the fjord.

An ice duck.
Sometimes the ice berglets can assume fanciful shapes. This is a selection from the previous image.

Awesome views. Love the ice duck, and the crocodile lurking to the left of it.

I’m curious how you get your images from camera to computer to blog.

I download all my images to Lightroom on the laptop each night and also generate two backups. I usually take a full-sized laptop that is profiled. I may make temporary posts while I am travelling with images only if I have the time. Then when I return, I transfer Lightroom catalogues to my PC, work on the images over time and make final posts to the Blog..

Murray, that must have been a hell-of-a-trip you’ve been on. Amazing photos to places I know I’ll never visit. Thank you for taking me there 😊

Thanks very much Sonia. In many ways it was a precious opportunity to see a fragile environment before global warming wipes it out. I’m thundering through the posts currently at the rate of one per day, hoping to get all the Spitsbergen/ Green, and ones finished by the end of the month. Then I’m off on another trip and the posts will slow down almost to a standstill. More on that later.
